BIO

P.C. Nick Moreland

Parker Speirs is a guitarist and composer who feels at home playing jazz standards, new music, rock, reimagined classical repertoire, and much more. He has released several recordings under his own name, and with The Inventures, an ensemble that re-imagines classical music by infusing it with jazz, rock, and pop. His talents have landed him a coveted spot as an Artist in Residence at the Music Center at Strathmore for the 2023-2024 season.

Parker has performed and recorded with numerous people, including popular music acts Mimi Knowles, Van Lady Love, The Strike, Susie Brown, or other contemporary artists like Emmanuel Trifilio, Sherele, Pixie & The Partygrass Boys, and many others. Parker holds a master’s degree in guitar studies and is a sought after instructor when not on stage.

Parker grew up in the Phoenix, Arizona area where he developed an early interest in the guitar. Though his starting point was blues and classic rock, he quickly developed an interest in jazz, classical, metal, and many other approaches to music as he developed his abilities as a guitarist and composer. Since then, Parker has kept busy as a bandleader, guitarist, composer, and sideman both locally in the Washington D.C. metro area and on tour.
