Parker Speirs is a guitarist and composer who feels at home playing jazz standards, new music, rock, reimagined classical repertoire, and much more. He has released several recordings under his own name and with The Inventures, an ensemble that re-imagines classical music by infusing it with jazz, rock, and pop. In addition, Speirs is a prolific sideman, seamlessly adding his stamp onto the work of various artists. He has performed and recorded with numerous ensembles including popular music acts Mimi Knowles, Van Lady Love, The Strike, Susie Brown, as well as contemporary artists like Emmanuel Trifilio, Sherele, and many others.

A native of the Phoenix, Arizona area, Speirs developed an early interest in guitar and other musical outlets. He immersed himself in the technical study of the guitar, classical bass, and composition. Enthralled with jazz and classical music as much as classic rock and metal, Parker’s unique perspective and blend of approaches to playing the guitar and writing music began to take shape. He earned a master’s degree in guitar studies under the tutelage of Corey Christiansen and is a sought after instructor and clinician when he’s not on stage. Recently, his talents landed him a coveted spot as an Artist in Residence at the Music Center at Strathmore for the 2023-2024 season. Parker keeps busy as a bandleader, guitarist, composer, and sideman both locally in the Washington D.C. metro area and on national circuits.
