Parker Speirs
Genre-blurring guitarist and composer bridging jazz, rock, and reimagined classical music
About Parker
Parker Speirs is a genre-blurring guitarist and composer whose work bridges jazz, rock, and reimagined classical traditions. In 2023–2024, he was named an Artist in Residence at the Music Center at Strathmore, recognizing both his creative work and cross-genre vision.
He has released multiple recordings as a bandleader, including The Layman, a modern jazz trio album, and Brain Cinema, a more expansive and cinematic project. He is also the co-founder of The Inventures, an ensemble that reimagines classical repertoire through the lens of jazz, rock, and pop. The group has released three albums and draws from composers ranging from Bach and Chopin to Sibelius.
An active sideman and collaborator, Speirs brings his voice to projects across a wide range of musical worlds. He has worked with artists including Mimi Knowles, The Strike, tango virtuoso Emmanuel Trifilio, and contemporary creators such as Taisha Estrada, Zoë Jorgenson, and The Guitar Renegades.
Based in the Washington, D.C. metro area, Speirs performs nationally as a bandleader, guitarist, and composer. He holds a master’s degree in guitar studies under Corey Christiansen and is a sought-after instructor and clinician when he’s not on stage.
